DocZone – OnDemand XML content managment solution

DocZone– XML-based environment as a SaaS solution

Advantages:

  • cost – tools ownership
  • cost – localization is expensive
  • Re-usability – XML format supporting both offline and online help

Functionality:

  • authoring
  • managing
  • reusing
  • localizing
  • publishing content

Risk

  • I hope that they have good backup plus code escrow service

This On Demand service make sense to me. This is an area that needs improvements and cost reduction.

    Hi Keren,

Thanks for mentioning us here and for acknowledging what we think is a very good value proposition for our customers. Thanks also for pointing out areas that we need to address on our website. Let me take a stab at it here:

Backups: We provide our customers with excellent backup service. We outsource data center management to Rackspace (www.rackspace.com), who have an excellent reputation in the industry for system uptime and high security standards. We offer our customers a full daily backup, as well as dynamic mirroring and failover capabilities.

We also make provisions in customer contracts to ensure that you minimize your risk in the case of “unlikely events”.

Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

I do have a couple of questions about the implementation of your service. I will send you an email.
